Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving was small this year. Just mom, Roe, and myself. But we still did all the fixings after a two day cooking bonanza.

Mom kept reminiscing on Grandma and how she did things for the holiday. She misses her mother and best friend. I miss her too. And at one point in the day as I turned to my mother and saw her beside me in the kitchen being my sous chef,  I thought how incredibly blessed I am to have her here by my side laughing, sharing, cooking, and reminiscing. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Thankful for unselfish, unconditional love; thankful for someone that would prep the bird because I am too scared to handle raw poultry; thankful for someone that listens to all my chatter; thankful for someone that stands patiently by when I am having my melt down about being locked out of the bathroom; thankful for someone that allows me to be me and loves me for it and despite of it.

Thankful for my mommy.

PS Also thankful for Roe and mom for allowing me to stick the camera in their face the past two days.

You can find a link to my grandmother's sweet potato souffle here.

I use my own stock of vanilla extract that I make myself for all my baking.

I forgot what we were talking about but Roe got pretty animated.

His usual position when people are eating.

Wedding of Jesse and Zak | Germantown Cricket Club Philadelphia, PA

Could Jesse and Zak have picked a more perfect fall day for the wedding. The bride Jesse was absolutely radiant, and plus she was just one of those people that you instantly like because she is the life of the party. Jesse didn't just smile she barrel laughed through her day. And Zak with his more quiet calm demeanor is a perfect complement to her. I absolutely adored there venue the Germantown Cricket Club and had no idea that it was tucked away just 5 minutes from where I grew up.

Be prepared for a long post of pictures since I loved this wedding so much!

And I would like to thank Heather O'mara for allowing me to come along as her second. Once again it was a pleasure working with her.

I loved how expressive Jesse's facial expressions were.

Jesse is one of three sisters and the second to get married this year.

As my grandmother would say "It was Windy the Witch out there". But it made for great photos on the Art Museum steps.

While waiting for portraits Jesse's veiled got tangled around her, who knew it would make for a pretty picture.

I fell in love with her bridesmaid's laugh.

I see why her and Jesse and are friends - they both have spectacular laughs.

The Mummer's made a surprise appearance.
