Fashion Finds - Engagement Shoot

During the planning of my wedding I discovered the wonderful site etsy. Etsy has changed the whole way I shop. I was amazed at all the talented artisans across the country and globe selling their quality handmade goods at affordable prices. I found that etsy allowed me to be different and find things that were truly an expression of who I am. No need for me to wonder if I was going to "see myself" out in the outfit I just purchased from J Crew on some other random girl at the mall. I  shop with the knowledge that most of the creations I buy on etsy are one of a kind and unique to what I have chosen. Also I get the warm fuzzies thinking about the fact that I am fueling someone's dream, supporting their artistic creativity, letting them know that their work is valued and appreciated, plus I am giving the economy a boost by supporting small businesses.

Well I want to share with you on a regular basis my etsy finds that I think would be helpful to all you future brides out there, specifically in fashion choices for your engagement shoots, rehearsal dinners, and bridesmaids. Every bride wants to look her best on camera and off and why not be unique in doing it.

Lovely way to dress up a pair a jeans and have a casual soft look

Find #3
Sometimes it's the simple that makes the most impact, like this pretty headpiece.

The Union of Crystal and Jason | Mt. Laurel NJ

Sometimes we curse technology and how it has made us less engaged in the moment, in the present, in what is happening right in front of us. However, there are times when it amazes me as to how much it brings us closer together. For Crystal and Jason live streaming their wedding allowed Jason's mom recuperating in the hospital to be a part of their day. Goes to show how much the two of them value family and the importance of their union being a truly a merger of their collective families. Jason and Crystal hugged and greeted every one of their guests, once again making their wedding about the collective. I loved how their bridesmaid banded together to give a collective toast. While weddings are the sacred union of two people they also mark the coming together of two lives and all that is in their world and Crystal and Jason's wedding reminded me of this.

Thanks to Heather O'Mara for allowing me to come along as her second and witness the joining of Crystal and Jason.

Two Love Birds - Scene from San Fransico

I have started to go through the 700+ photos from our vacation at the end of July to San Fransico. (Yes I was a little shutter bug).

Until I do a full post here is a little snapshot I captured of two love birds soaking in music from a street performer.

Out in Clark Park | Philadelphia Family Session

I met Mana and her husband over at Clark Park for an early morning session one Sunday.  Mana's little girl Leila is at that adorable age where she is curious, engaging, and makes the most adorable funny faces.  I must be on a lucky streak with 9 month olds that are easy going, smile for the camera, and are not fussy.

And Leila by far surprised me the most out of all the babies I have met because her dad put on Al Green as a way to soothe and calm her. What 9 month old loves Al Green? One that is going to be a very hip cool young lady someday.

So of course I had to choose Al Green to do a slideshow with - Enjoy!

And a big wonderful thanks to Mana for allowing me to come spend time with her family and document their life.
