Alex at the Art Museum

I am so happy that Alex contacted me for a photo session. I had a wonderful time chatting it up with him during our time together atop the Art Museum steps. He is a college student in the area studying lighting design. How cool is that?

Plus he was so amiable to climbing over fences and atop ledges to get the shots I wanted. Got to love him for that.

Wish you the best in your studies Alex and thanks for allowing me to shoot you ;)

Sneak Peek : Alex at the Art Museum

Since today's weather calls for it to be cold with a possibility of snow showers (What the heck is going on here Mother Nature? I thought it was supposed to be spring. Why the flake out?), I was lucky to get my photo session in with Alex yesterday at the Art Museum.

I had so much fun chatting it up with Alex and can't wait for you to see photos from his session. But here is a sneak peek.

Mother - Daughter Day

I spent a lovely spring day with my mother window shopping and walking around Center City Philadelphia.  We hit a couple of furniture stores, Williams & Sonoma, Macy's, and MAC.  I convinced her to take a walk with me to the hot new cupcake boutique Philly Cupcake on Chestnut Street  and we were not disappointed. They have the most charming darling shop with an inventive display of all their uniques cupcake flavors. I got my go to favorite Red Velvet, which I have surprisingly had enough self control to save for tonight. We wrapped up our window shopping with lunch at XIX at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, which I think hands down is one of the best lunch deals in the city. And the food there is out of this world. Then we scooted over to the Art Museum for my mother to accompany me to a portrait session (more to come). All and all a fab day.

My mother who hates to get her picture taken also graciously agreed to a couple of shots which really was the icing on the cake for my day.

The yumminess that awaits after I finish this post.  UMMMMMM Moist cakey goodness.

Spring is finally here and I love it!

You couldn't ask for a more perfect first day of spring this past Saturday.  The weather was in one word - DIVINE! After one of the most snowy, harsh, bitterly cold winters we have had in a years, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day that was a sneak peek of things to come.  It seemed like everyone was out basking in the sun and my husband and I were no different. After a morning of running back and forth car shopping at different dealerships, my husband and I went out to Art Museum to enjoy the beautiful view of the city. It was also a perfect opportunity for pictures which was a pleasant change after being cooped up all winter with nothing to shoot but snow.

I am looking forward to all the things Spring brings:  late night runs to Rita's for water ice, beautiful flowers blooming in the garden, relaxing on the deck with a good book, long walks at Valley Green, etc.....

Spring is here and I love it.

Highlighted on Lookbook by Onada

Lil' old me was highlighted today on Lookbook by Onada. (If it were possible I would be blushing.)

Onada is a fabulous photographer, businesswoman, fashionista, and all around great girl who I became friends with after she did my engagement pictures last year.  Through her unbelievable ambition and work ethic she has since been a huge inspiration to me to get out there and start pursuing my heart's desire, namely starting a business and pursuing photography.  So I was tickled pink when she asked me to be a part of her blogger interview series.

So go on over and check out the interview (the questions were really fun to answer) and stick around a while and check out her great lookbook.

Favorite Photo of the Week

My house has been all a buzz this week between the bathroom renovation, the warm weather, shopping for a new car, and trying to find time to test out my new sewing machine.

But I always have time to snap a photo of my favorite little guy. And I am so proud of him that he stood so tall and erect for the photo as opposed to when he is usually shifting and moving around like a toddler who has to go potty.

Ok make it favorite photos of the week ;)

Favorite Photo of the Week

I've been a little low this week and my husband surprised me this morning with a dozen roses. What a beautiful way to start the day.

Tamika's Portrait Session

Tamika is 8 months pregnant and is due the end of April. I met her last year when she was a bridesmaid at my friend's wedding. I knew she had a kind, giving, and loving spirit when she gave one of the most touching speeches at my friend's bridal shower. So it was my pleasure and quite a privilege to do this shoot for her baby shower invites and table numbers.

I can't wait till the baby is here and can do a new born session.

Congratulations Tamika on your blessing and wishing you and your baby health and happiness.

Signs of Spring

Isn't it wonderful!

Soon the garden will be filled with beautiful daffodils and tulips.

Which means I need to get on the ball with ordering my plants and bulbs for summer.

Favorite Photo of the Week

Since I have been subsisting on granola and practically nothing else for the past week (I have just been forgetting to eat), I decided that this whole week would be filled with comfort food. This past Sunday I made the dreamiest mashed potatoes that were creamy, rich and smooth. And as if they weren't good enough already I threw in some caramelized onions to kick it up a notch. BAM!

If you would like the recipe it can be found here.
